When matters do proceed to court then expert witness reports are completed in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR). Section 35 of the CPR sets out the role of the expert witness. In addition the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors have mandatory practice note on the role of the surveyor in acting as an expert witness.
